Featured! Ruffled Blog // Cinco de Mayo Elopement

I was asked to photograph a colorful Cinco de Mayo shoot for Ruffled Blog, featured today…check it out! I teamed up with the ever so talented Rebekah of A & B Creative to bring this color infused shoot to life. The inspiration for the design of this shoot came from Mexican scenery, from dry and arid to lush and bright. The warm wood tones, antique spools and antlers contrasted the bright cigar boxes, patterned plates, and vintage Mexican textiles. Aren’t the florals to die for? I absolutely loved them especially since they featured my favorite flowers: peonies and ranunculus. The bride’s hair was inspired by Frida Kahlo’s classic look, which was a perfect complement to the “Frida” wall. If you want to read more about the design behind the shoot and see a whole gallery of images from our shoot, check out Ruffled!

Kasia & Patryk Engaged // San Carlos Airport

A big thank you to Brooklyn Bride for featuring Kasia & Patryk’s engagement session today! I always love shooting engagement sessions and this one in particular was unique not only because of the rad location but the story that brought it to life. They met a few years ago while Kasia was living in Arizona and Patryk in Northern California. They hit it off instantly, kicking off their love story and mutual appreciation for the airports that helped nurture their long distance relationship. Patryk also has a love for flying, and he may or may not have channeled a little TopGun for some inspiration! I loved getting to explore the airplane hangars and runways, how great was the sun that day?? Loved it all. They are getting married in an old airplane hangar this June too, so fitting! Can’t wait.

Cheers to an epic season ahead!

I’m definitely looking forward to this month, we are gearing up for some really great weddings with some super sweet couples. I feel so blessed by the relationships I’ve got to build with them and I am so happy for each of them as they tie the knot! YAY. This upcoming wedding season is going to be a blast! From LA to Napa, from Hawaii to France — we are definitely jet-setters this year, its going to be insane. Cheers to everyone getting married this year!

In the light // Alice Mahran Photography

Last month, I started a new column called IN THE LIGHT, and since then, I’ve had SUCH a great response to it which makes me even more excited to feature artists who inspire me and in turn, inspire YOU. While Arash and I were traveling, we had the pleasure of meeting a few artists from England and Amsterdam who I knew I just had to feature IN THE LIGHT.

Meet: Alice. Holland based wedding photographer who definitely has an artistic voice and a style all her own. Check her out on Facebook or follow her here.

Growing up, I wasn’t so great at school and I really believed that I couldn’t do anything good, that everything I did would break up in the end and mean nothing anymore then I met photography. Its my heart. And its God’s way of showing me that I CAN even if sometimes I don’t get it. I know I don’t have the tools of being a “technical in the box  photographer” no school. Yet beauty & love is what I have to offer and when my clients become my friends, then I know their is nothing I would rather do.

1. LOVE: Without Love I am nothing..I know capturing the beauty and love around me is enough to satisfy.

2. BEAUTY:  I’m always inspired by beauty & love. I try my best to see beauty in everything but mostly in myself for I believe only then I can see the beauty in others.

3. GOD: I’m so thankful that God gives me what I need to capture the moment and make my couples see themselves more beautiful than they had ever seen before.

4. SMILING: oh I love it!!!

5. AVOCADOS: I love avocados and lots of lemons and salt…I’m a sour girl! Ha!

Thanks Alice for being  IN THE LIGHT!
