For their anniversary, Arody and Piero came to San Francisco from Mexico to see the sights and experience the city and all its quirky flair. Their love is so real they wore their hearts on their sleeve. I loved that. They have this love and joy between them, like old friends who have so much passion for life and for each other. Once in a while you meet people who you have an instant connection with, something inexplainable. Arody is a photographer too, who also studied graphic design and by the end of our session we decided we’re pretty much twin souls. As the three of us spent time together, Piero would just laugh because it was so crazy how much the two of us had in common…its moments like this and people like Arody and Piero that I seriously thank God for what I get to do. This was so much more than a session, it was a meeting of friends and a display of love that truly left a footprint.
San Francisco wedding photographer | Kelly & Jaime, Featured!
A big thank you to Style Me Pretty for featuring Kelly and Jaime’s City Hall wedding on their new California blog. Go take a peek…If you’re getting married in California, don’t miss out on all the inspiration on their blog geared specifically to you!
Kelly and Jaime got married at San Francisco’s gorgeous City Hall building surrounded by tons of loving and supportive friends and family. It was the first time I had shot at City Hall and I was pleasantly surprised by all the gorgeous detail. Bronze, stain glass, gorgeous ceilings…definitely an ideal backdrop for any photographer. Not to mention I had the honor of shooting the sweetest couple. I absolutely love these two, from the moment we met, I could sense they have something super special. The love they have between them is so sweet and contagious. To see even more of Kelly & Jaime, here’s a link to their engagement session!
Part II of their wedding was a more formal dinner that was so San Francisco chic. There’s something so romantic about this city–I loved how Kelly & Jaime really captured it. Baker & Banker restaurant was a quaint little restaurant in the heart of SF and it was the perfect setting for dinner and drinks.
San Francisco Engagement Photographer | Layla&Tom
Every time I head into San Francisco I get this overwhelming feeling of city life and I dream about what it would be like to live right in the heart of it all. I imagine an apt with gorgeous city sun shining through, exploring the little cafes and shops on the weekend, feeling so small around the giant buildings all around, and soaking all the inspiration that lives in the in between. Meeting Layla and Tom at their apt, picking out some fun outfits to wear, and exploring the city with them was so much fun! They are the the quintessential San Francisco couple, living in the heart of beautiful SF. Layla is super inspired by architecture so finding a spot to photograph was no problem! She had her list of city gems and we drove around and captured their story. They couldn’t have been sweeter and 10 minutes into the day, I felt like I’ve known them forever. Can’t wait for the wedding!

Bay Area Portrait Photographer | Holiday Session: Romero Family
I don’t know about you but there is something so warm, endearing and lovely about the trees right now. Warm reds, oranges, yellows…they light up the streets everywhere I go and I have to hold myself back from stopping and photographing each one. The Romero Family mirror my feelings about these trees because they exude a warmth that is so contagious, you just want to be around them all day long. From the moment I walked into their home I felt like family. I began to play outside with little Sophia and Paula and I instantly knew we were going to have alot of fun shooting. These girls are so adorable! Adriana, thank you SO much for inviting me into your home and allowing me to capture your beautiful family!!
bay area wedding photographer, cupertino, CA | Sareh & Rob
I’ve worn many hats in my day but never had I worn these two at the same time…until this wedding. Being a bridesmaid and the wedding photographer is quite the task but I have to say it was a special one. I had the pleasure of having Gladys Jem to second shoot with me so I can juggle my hats for the day. We had such a fun time and I couldn’t be more happy for Sareh and Rob. Throughout the wedding, I’d look around and everyone present was either dancing, laughing or just having a good time. We were surrounded by friends and family and danced our hearts out all night long! They make a perfect couple…to read more about their story, check out their engagement post. Until next time, I think I’ve retired my bridesmaid hat for a while now but I the photographer hat will not be coming off any time soon. Rob and Sareh, thank you for letting me share the day with you! I wish you both the very very best…can’t wait for what’s in store! Check out their slideshow for even more images from their wedding–

bay area engagement photographer, Santa Cruz | Sareh&Rob
Sareh and Rob carry with them two of the most passionate, fun-loving hearts you will ever come across. We wanted to do something fun for their shoot and what better place than the boardwalk? I absolutely love all the color and the sun was just amazing. We even took a ride on the Giant Dipper, sneaking in my camera and shooting their expressions was quite a thrill, to say the least! Sareh is an artist, through and through. From painting to graphic design, she has quite the creative spirit. We share the same love (and obsession) for Antrhopologie, fun vintage house decor and can talk art and design for hours. She has one of the sweetest souls, its no wonder Rob is so in love. The two of them were friends for years but it wasn’t until a painting project really brought them together. See…Rob is a world traveler. Lived in Indonesia for years, traveled to many countries working with nonprofits. A couple years ago, Rob was planning a trip to Haiti and needed to fundraise for an orphanage out in Port Au Prince. Sareh volunteered to help paint canvases in order to raise funds and it was during those few months of painting that Rob began to fall for her. Their relationship brings such a smile to my face because seeing two of our closest friends fall in love is just simply perfection. We have known the both of them for years and can honestly say they are the perfect match. I am so excited for their wedding and can’t wait to share that day with them! Its just around the corner…Congratulations you two!

bay area engagement photographer, San Francisco | Helen&David
Helen and David have one of those stories that movies are made of. Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Girl would rather be friends. Boy can’t get girl out of his mind. Girl begins to realize she has loved boy all along. Boy and girl fall in love! Helen and David’s story follows the same theme except they are just way too cute to be put in any box. Helen and David met in China. Helen was working for a nonprofit that she started out there and David was working for a media company in Beijing. Helen is from California and David is from England yet they found love half way across the world. Helen has such a beautiful and authentic quality about her, she’s full of life and has such a passion for it. David is a gentle soul and one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Thank you both for letting me tell your story…you two are a perfect pair! Check out their slideshow here!

For some time now I have been working on my portfolio site and I am so happy to say that it has finally launched! New branding…new business cards…new site…aaah. I can finally sleep comfortably knowing that my biggest project is out of the way. Its always so difficult designing for yourself. I tend to be a bit fickle when it comes to my own look and feel but this time I’m finally content. Check it out and show me some love!

BAY AREA PHOTOGRAPHER | FIRE EYES
I had the pleasure of learning the Art Of Directing from one of the most talented photographers that I know, Tanja Lippert. I have always admired Tanja’s work and as soon as I found out she was opening up her home to teach photographers what she knows, I couldn’t resist the opportunity! Tanja is so much more than just a talented photographer, she has the most amazingly fun and outgoing personality ever. When I opened the door and walked in to her place, she greeted me with a chicken costume on…no joke! I knew I was in for an exciting day! When I was still in college, years ago, pre art-school, I remember noticing a photograph on the wall at my local starbucks. It was a photograph of a bride and groom holding hands in front of an old rundown barn. The barn doors had such beautiful texture and it was the most out-of-the-box wedding portrait I had ever seen, the juxtaposition of the elegant bridal gown and the old rundown barn was something I hadn’t seen back then, but I knew I loved it. I quickly went and asked the barista who’s work that was on the wall and I kept Tanja’s name in the back of my mind. I’ve always had a passion for photography, art, and images that speak volumes so when I saw that picture I knew that this girl, whoever she was, was someone I just had to meet. Long story short and almost 5 years later, Tanja Lippert inspired me to pursue photography, to be a woman who loves her craft and dares to take the images that live in my brain and bring them to life! It was an honor to shoot next to her during this workshop, to learn from her and to have my photography work be affirmed by her. Everyone out there has someone who has inspired them to some degree and Tanja is someone who continues to do that for me. These are the images that I captured throughout our day. The makeup and styling was done by the amazing Tia…isn’t it gorgeous?!

Mahsa and Hamed are getting married next weekend and I am definitely looking forward to celebrating with all their friends and family. I have had the pleasure of knowing Mahsa since we were teenagers. I remember running around playing “ditch” boys vs girls and Mahsa was the fastest out of all of us girls. Whenever the girls needed a representative to compete against the boys, we’d have Mahsa do the job and she never failed us! The years have gone by and she is a stunning woman inside and out, one of the classiest by far. Her beauty radiates through that gorgeous smile! I am so beyond thrilled that she has found the man of her dreams. Their shower was a show-stopper! Located in the sunny Saratoga hills, at a private secluded vineyard. All the guests wore white and the bride-to-be wore a stunning vintage Christian Dior dress. It was like no other shower I had ever been to, I felt like I was in a movie…it reminded me of The Great Gatsby. There was something very special about the entire day, from the heart-shaped watermelon slices to the gorgeous surroundings…it was simply beautiful.
