Caroline & Greg // Berkeley Botanical Garden

“We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.” Caroline & Greg’s wedding was filled with so much personality, telling their story through the little details that symbolized what brought these two together: Dinosaurs and Samba. Even though they were from two parts of the world they had a lot of commonalities…Caroline was born in Brazil and Greg spent time studying abroad in Rio. Caroline worked at the Museum of Natural History in NY and Greg took a class on dinosaurs. As a result of these common threads, their lives intertwined and they were happy to finally say, “i do” (and not just once!) First the traditional ceremony in the gorgeous Botanical Gardens of Berkeley, then a colorful Korean ceremony outside the Faculty Club where, inside, the samba band played some ridiculously good dance music!

wedding photography, chico | Katie & Kevin {married}

Katie and Kevin got married in Chico, at the home where Katie grew up. It was the perfect backyard wedding filled with tons of friends and family who adored both Kevin and Katie so much. Katie and Kevin were drawn together through their love for traveling the world and discovering new places and people. So naturally their wedding followed a travel theme. The decor was filled with vintage postcards and each area in the backyard highlighted a different country they have traveled together. Each guest also wrote them a little love note on one-of-a-kind vintage postcards from the 1920, 30 and 40’s which made for such great keepsakes from their day. Love that idea! It was really special to be a part of their day, from the ceremony at the church to what was shared during the toasts, there were multiple times where I had to air out my eyes and catch a tear or two. You know, there are some couples you meet and you can tell, instantly, that they were just meant for each other? There’s no denying that these two were meant to be!

There aren’t enough words to describe how much fun it was to document this wedding! Mandela and Tim are two creative souls who’s personalities and heart could be felt all throughout this rustic, creative and oh so fun outdoor wedding. San Francisco Wedding Photographer, Presidio | Layla&Tom

undefined

Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and a sixpence in her shoe! This was the theme that wrapped Layla and Tom’s San Francisco Wedding. Her grandmother’s ring, her new silk wedding dress, borrowed pearl earrings and the blue wedding cake– subtle details that made the day even more special. Everything about this wedding was done with class. The gorgeous church with its traditional flair, Layla’s lace cover up, the Rolls Royce, the flowers, and the backdrop of San Francisco — all came together so beautifully. It doesn’t take long to notice that Layla has a special spark about her, the joy she feels and the genuine heart that she has comes through instantly in her smile– you could see how happy she was to be marrying Tom. After all was said and done, Arash and I drove away convinced we just shared a night with one of the sweetest, gracious and genuine couples ever. Have I mentioned how much I love what I do?

bay area wedding photographer, los gatos | Kathryn & Jeff

undefinedJeff and Kathryn got married at Nestledown in Los Gatos, a gorgeous venue. Kathryn’s dress was her mother’s wedding dress and I thought that was super sweet and really special that she wore it on her wedding day. One of my favorite shots of the whole day was of Kathryn and her mom as she walked her down the isle to meet Jeff. There is so much joy in both their eyes. The fog set in super thick that night too which made for some pretty photos and I just LOVED shooting among the birch trees.

undefined Zoe & Jon’s wedding was one of my favorites that I had the honor of shooting with Jose Villa. The location was Winters, CA at the gorgeous Bear Flag Farm. The farm was filled with lovely lavendar fields, citrus trees and the perfect touch of vintage elements–this is a photographer’s dream location. The wedding itself was filled with unique DIY elements like custom illustrated invites, create-your-own cocktail menu, pretty patterned seating tags and little notes on every straw.
