Yaxi & Kai // Carmel Wedding Photographer

Yaxi and Kai got married in gorgeous Carmel Valley, surrounded by some of the sweetest family and friends. I had to hold back tears during their ceremony as they read their hand written vows to each other…the most genuine and heartfelt words ever. Its impossible not to fall in love with these two, I’m so blessed to know them and so thankful to share the day with them! Congrats Yaxi and Kai!!

Featured! Ruffled Blog // Cinco de Mayo Elopement

I was asked to photograph a colorful Cinco de Mayo shoot for Ruffled Blog, featured today…check it out! I teamed up with the ever so talented Rebekah of A & B Creative to bring this color infused shoot to life. The inspiration for the design of this shoot came from Mexican scenery, from dry and arid to lush and bright. The warm wood tones, antique spools and antlers contrasted the bright cigar boxes, patterned plates, and vintage Mexican textiles. Aren’t the florals to die for? I absolutely loved them especially since they featured my favorite flowers: peonies and ranunculus. The bride’s hair was inspired by Frida Kahlo’s classic look, which was a perfect complement to the “Frida” wall. If you want to read more about the design behind the shoot and see a whole gallery of images from our shoot, check out Ruffled!

David & Rachel // San Francisco Wedding Photographer

City weddings have a certain hora about them, a certain level of class and sophistication all on their own. San Francisco creates a fine backdrop with tons of unique venues to choose from and the Argonaut Hotel is one of those iconic SF spots. Rachel and David got married in the center courtyard right near Ghiradelli Square — super sweet. The red brick surroundings created a gorgeous palette of soft pink, which I love. One of the many unique pieces about this day was all the creative elements David designed for the wedding. From the programs, the invitations, the buttons and the cute little cupcakes in a jar — I was in design heaven. I’m a sucker for great typography and David’s designs brought such a sweet modern flair to the event; not to mention it made the day even more personal. I absolutely loved shooting this wedding because getting a chance to hang out with David and Rachel is like hanging out with old friends. They have such a contagious love for life and for each other, its inspiring.

Mike & Vivian // San Francisco Wedding Photographer

Mike and Vivian. Oh where do I start? Since we met back in the summer of 2011, we’ve become good friends, swapped travel stories over sushi and every time we hang out, we find yet another crazy thing in common. Its almost unreal how similar we are and just completely gratifying to know that I get to work with people like Mike and Vivian. Both super talented graphic designers, in love with mid-century modern design, appreciate great food and love to travel just as much as we do…not to mention we live down the street from each other!? Crazy. Their SF City Hall wedding was fitting – simple yet completely classic. I especially love the photo below because it sums up the dynamic of their relationship in one photograph. Vivian keeps it cool and Mike keeps things ridiculously interesting and spontaneous. For their reception, Local Kitchen and Wine Merchant was the perfect backdrop to end the night with its modern setting, and delicious food!

Mike & Lacey // Santa Rosa Wedding Photographer

Lacey and Mike got married at a private residence in gorgeous Santa Rosa surrounded by their immensely loving families. There was one thing that was certain, these two were held dear by every single person who attended. The venue, decor, florals, music, and desserts, every inch of this wedding was put together by a dear friend or family member. It felt so special, so personal. And to top it all off, Lacey and Mike are probably the nicest people you will ever meet. Lacey’s electric laugh is so contagious, I think I had a permanent smile on my face the entire day. The way Mike would look at her, and then ask us…”have you seen how beautiful she looks?!” — melted my heart.

Featured! Ruffled Blog | Frances & Ben // Mill Valley Wedding Photographer

This wedding stole my heart. All of the elements throughout this wedding oozed of simple romance and whimsy. Frances and Ben got married on top of Mt Tamalpais amidst the gorgeous fog and beautiful scenery. As I shot this wedding, I truly felt like I was documenting a fairy tale, something out of a book. From the enchanted little mountain home where Frances got ready, the rolling hills on top of Mt. Tam, the adorable little animal figurines sprinkled all around the reception and dancing under the gold sparkly stars…can we say DREAMY? Yes. Absolutely. A big thank you to Ruffled Blog for featuring their wedding today! To read more about how Frances dreamed up this romantic day, be sure to check out Ruffled.
