Hanniel and Chris have been together for years and the journey they have been on has been a story in itself. So in honor of their playful and creative selves, we wanted to do something quirky and fun for their engagement photos; something that really captured their aesthetic and set the stage for their summer destination wedding in Maui. “Away We Go” was our theme and as a result of their mutual appreciation for Wes Anderson, we knew we just had to use channel a little bit of The Royal Tenenbaums. We started dreaming and teamed up with Rebekah from A & B Creative who could not have been a more perfect piece to our creative puzzle. I love that we got to play dress up and do something a little different than the norm, congrats to Hanniel & Chris! Hope you enjoy!
Love in Liverpool // Michael & Danielle
Isn’t it sweet when your nearest and dearest friend finds love? Danielle and I have been friends since freshman year of high school. After a hilarious incident in health class brought us together, we’ve been inseparable ever since. Even though she now lives in Liverpool, England, every time we talk its like we haven’t skipped a beat. I cherish our friendship and I honestly thank God so much for bringing such a constant, sweet, loyal and supportive friend like Danielle in my life. When she came home for Christmas two years ago, she told me about Michael and it was then that I knew…I could see it in her eyes that he was a keeper. He was it. She was so excited about him and their then budding relationship so you can imagine, I was SO happy to meet Michael a year later and see them both so in love. Arash and I went to visit Danielle and Michael in Liverpool back in April, where Michael had proposed 1 week before we arrived! Love was in the air, to say the least, and it was only fitting (and a total honor) for me to shoot their engagement session. It was so fun to travel all around Liverpool, stopping in some of their favorite cafes, shops and revisiting stops they made on their very first date. Exploring a brand new city and photographing love? Sign me up! I’m so so thrilled to be Danielle’s Matron of Honor next June, to stand by her side and watch her marry the man of her dreams. 
This is where Michael proposed, you must see this video from their proposal. Their good friend captured this epic engagement. Michael hired a choir to sing The Beatles’ “All You Need Is Love” as he walked her through the proposal. Melt. My. Heart.

Kasia & Patryk Engaged // San Carlos Airport
A big thank you to Brooklyn Bride for featuring Kasia & Patryk’s engagement session today! I always love shooting engagement sessions and this one in particular was unique not only because of the rad location but the story that brought it to life. They met a few years ago while Kasia was living in Arizona and Patryk in Northern California. They hit it off instantly, kicking off their love story and mutual appreciation for the airports that helped nurture their long distance relationship. Patryk also has a love for flying, and he may or may not have channeled a little TopGun for some inspiration! I loved getting to explore the airplane hangars and runways, how great was the sun that day?? Loved it all. They are getting married in an old airplane hangar this June too, so fitting! Can’t wait.
Erin & Tom Engaged // Crissy Field
In typical San Francisco fashion, the fog rolled in and although it was one of the coldest weekends we’ve had in a while, Erin and Tom’s energy warmed up the shoot just fine. I love when I get to work with couples who are just so enamored with each other. Erin and Tom are just so in love, making it super easy to document and tell their story. We shot at Crissy Field, with the Golden Gate as our backdrop — add a little fog, and you get some pretty magical hues.

Matthew and Aubrey couldn’t be sweeter. I am so blessed to know them and to get the opportunity to shoot their wedding later this year, too. We had such a great time together and if you’re wondering the back story behind the “love sick” theme? Matthew and Aubrey are medical students at Loma Linda University in Southern California. It was there that Matthew first saw Aubrey, and outside the Anatomy lab was where they finally had their first introduction, where it all began. And according to Matt…when he first laid eyes on her, it was love at first sight.

Lily & Blake // Carmel Valley
There are certain things that make me super happy and meeting couples that I instantly click with is one of them. I had the best time with Lily & Blake and Nima (thanks for exploring and assisting for the day!) as we explored the quaint streets and gorgeous valleys of Carmel. Although they live in the great state of Texas, Lily and Blake fell in love with Carmel and all its rustic characteristics. From the spanish tiles to the picnic under the sun, the elements in this shoot make me swoon!

Jennifer and Jay are simply adorable and super fun to hang out with! I loved this day, exploring the bamboo forest and getting to play and shoot little Nixon was the best. Can’t wait for Mason and Nixon to meet.
