Katie and Kevin got married in Chico, at the home where Katie grew up. It was the perfect backyard wedding filled with tons of friends and family who adored both Kevin and Katie so much. Katie and Kevin were drawn together through their love for traveling the world and discovering new places and people. So naturally their wedding followed a travel theme. The decor was filled with vintage postcards and each area in the backyard highlighted a different country they have traveled together. Each guest also wrote them a little love note on one-of-a-kind vintage postcards from the 1920, 30 and 40’s which made for such great keepsakes from their day. Love that idea! It was really special to be a part of their day, from the ceremony at the church to what was shared during the toasts, there were multiple times where I had to air out my eyes and catch a tear or two. You know, there are some couples you meet and you can tell, instantly, that they were just meant for each other? There’s no denying that these two were meant to be!

The ladies from

My mom always told me that if I had my mind set on something, I’d get there and nothing could stop me–sometimes that works against me (umm…diet?!) but most of the time, its a great thing. I guess that means there’s a bit of determination in me…and a whole lot of grace given to me, that I don’t deserve. I got into the creative industry years ago, inspired by photography, fashion, print editorials, fabric patterns, and illustration. Some day, soon I hope, I will have a giant studio space where I can fill the white walls in magazine tears, fabric swatches and tons and tons of art and photos. An ideal spot for client meetings, in my opinion! Being able to photograph gorgeous weddings and meet amazing people is a dream come true. Coming from a design background, I’ve had some really cool opportunities to design and photograph in creative environments that I wouldn’t trade for anything. The creative world is where I belong-I find my voice in photographs and being able to tell a story.

For their anniversary, Arody and Piero came to San Francisco from Mexico to see the sights and experience the city and all its quirky flair. Their love is so real they wore their hearts on their sleeve. I loved that. They have this love and joy between them, like old friends who have so much passion for life and for each other. Once in a while you meet people who you have an instant connection with, something inexplainable. Arody is a photographer too, who also studied graphic design and by the end of our session we decided we’re pretty much twin souls. As the three of us spent time together, Piero would just laugh because it was so crazy how much the two of us had in common…its moments like this and people like Arody and Piero that I seriously thank God for what I get to do. This was so much more than a session, it was a meeting of friends and a display of love that truly left a footprint.

I don’t know what could have been a more perfect surprise but in honor of my 28th birthday and our 3 year anniversary, Arash and I swept away to Mexico for little celebratory vacation. I’ve always been one to figure out a surprise but Arash has been the first person to stump me time and time again…and this time was no different. He used clever & very tricky poems which he wrote to lead me to clues that spelled out the message: “we are flying to cancun”!! Are you joking?? Yessssss! What’s summer without working on the tan and doing a little swimming?? Endless guacamole, super hot sun, some polaroid action, pampering…we had the best time! I can’t believe its been 3 years since our 8.8.08 wedding–time flies like mad crazy fast. Over the last 3 years we’ve gone through a lot of change, grown so much as husband and wife, laughed a ton, been challenged when life goes its own route, been inspired by creative endeavors, and I can only look forward with excitement for all the new adventure to come in the future! I have been blessed so much by the man by my side…he’s an amazing example, a supportive best friend and loving husband. I could not ask for a better partner to walk out this journey with me.
