If you find yourself in the city, be sure to check out Mill. Super cute stuff! I bought a handmade doll for the baby and I am in love with it! They have such unique little things. 
If there’s one thing I love more than photography its great decorating and interior design..so imagine how excited I was to hear that West Elm was opening up a store right in my neighborhood. I had the pleasure of photographing a dinner in honor of the new Palo Alto store opening for Glitter Guide! Jacin from Lovely Little Details decorated the restuarant space with West Elm vases and fun ornaments from Confetti System for West Elm. How cute are those ornaments? I am so so happy to finally share this Bridal Shower with you and even more excited to see it on 100 Layer Cake today! A big thank you to the ladies over at 100 Layer Cake for featuring this bridal shower, styled by the ever so creative and talented Rebekah of A & B Creative, who is also a bridesmaid in the shoot. This group of ladies are super talented, most of the bridesmaids contributed to the shoot, from hair to invites, this is one talented bridal party! Not to mention, the bride herself is the owner of an adorable vintage furniture boutique, Mignonne. The shower was located at her place, with all its amazing decor (her place was also featured on Apartment Therapy a while back). I always love collaborating on creative shoots and this was definitely a fun day…we had such a fun time celebrating Johnelle over some delicious cocktails, an olive tasting bar and ridiculously tasting food. Some friendships grow old with you, they age as you age and they transform as life sends you through its unavoidable seasons. Over the years, Hanniel and I have been BFF’s, classmates, roommates and ever since we were probably 4 and 5 years old, our families have pretty much become one in the same. I’m reminded how valuable true friendship is and how quickly we take the people around us for granted. I’m so thankful to have friendships in my life that run deep, inspire me to be better and can encourage the dreams and passions that live inside our big hearts to come alive, simply just by being around each other. This was a day with Hanniel.
As we say goodbye to 2011, I thought I’d share one of my holiday sessions from this last year. I don’t often shoot family portraits except for around the holidays. This one was especially near and dear to my heart because Samira is Arash’s youngest sister and its always fun to photograph family. Saman and Samira have two adorable kids, Daniel and Iman. Daniel is like a mini-Arash and one day, if we have a son, he may look a lot like this little guy!

Kathryn and Chris could not have been more perfect. There’s something about shooting a maternity session, an inexplainable joy and anticipation that is so real. I got a glimpse of what it would feel like to share that kind of bond and to look forward to the next season in life. Kathryn made being pregnant look so easy! Baby Kingston is one lucky little guy — its was so evident just how much Chris and Kathryn loved him. A big thank you to On To Baby for featuring this session, check out the feature to see even more.
Ida Mae and Nino got married years ago and never had a chance to do a session or photograph their wedding. Fast forward a few years and add adorable baby, Nico…and you get the perfect opportunity to photograph their new lives. Nico is the most adorable little boy, so smiley and sweet. Nino and Ida Mae have such a unity and love between them, it was so inspiring to spend the day with them!
